Sometimes, you have to struggle to barely make "small talks"...
Other times, it's fun to be with someone.
Well... We can't forget those times when you have to listen for nonsense blabbering.
But fortunately, there are occasions when it's a pleasure to have an exchange of thoughts, opinions, and feelings with a nice person.
So, what kind of conversation do we have when we meet someone?
Will we be remembered 2 minutes after?
Will the time spent be worth it?
I found a saying that expresses what I'm talking about in a formidable way:
Great Minds… discuss ideas
Average Minds… discuss events
Small Minds… discuss people

:) Such a waste of time could always cease to exit by a click, a gesture, a word .... from your side.
It is never a problem .. and it should never be one for you in particular, as I believe you have the ability to be the arbiter of everything that rotates you or anything that falls in your aura ... albeit you may act shyly and that would pop up in the shape of frustration or boredom later on .. at a certain stage.
I think, if I want to take your saying into consideration that ... People start using their intellect to attract the others (they would be using their great poewrs).. then they would finish up with exchanging ideologies ... (time to discuss events) .. and when life holds no significant events .. and there is no need to parade with lies ... (people discuss people) ..
Simple .. right??

The Theory of Evolution and Declining.
Meeting people, whoever they are, should never be considered as a waste of time. Every person has his own way of thinking, his own beliefs and his own theories towards life.
We can learn how to be happy from the optimistic people, how to love life and fight for it from the sick people, how to be grateful for our friends from the lonely people, how we should respect our parents from an orphan, how we can know the value of every penny we have from a poor man…
Every single person has his own ‘shining’ secret that we can discover through a simple conversation, and that may enrich our lives forever.
Many times I haven’t been sure who I will meet or what will happen if I go to a new place or start talking with strangers. But it always gives new ideas, perspectives and insights on different areas of life.
Once again I appreciate all the people I meet, whom expand my thinking, give me new ideas and inspiration. It is invaluable!
